Plant for impact-resistant PLEXIGLAS® molding compounds goes into operation in Worms
- Demand for impact-modified PLEXIGLAS® molding compounds remains high
- High delivery reliability and flexibility for impact-resistant PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate)
- Further expansion of plant capacity is planned
In June, Röhm successfully commissioned the plant expansion for impact-modified PLEXIGLAS® molding compounds in Worms, which are used primarily in the automotive, household, and construction sectors. The expansion will enable the company to meet the high global demand for its branded polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA).
In order to respond to the high growth that is expected to persist, Röhm is already making plans for a further expansion of the plant, which is to be accompanied by a further considerable increase in capacity.
“The continuous expansion of our global production capacities is part of our growth strategy”, says Chief Operations Officer (COO) Hans-Peter Hauck. “The expansion of production capacities for PLEXIGLAS® molding compounds is planned at our locations in Worms and Shanghai (China) in the coming years”, he adds.
Impact-resistant PLEXIGLAS® is especially suitable for applications requiring durability, excellent UV and weather resistance as well as optimum mechanical properties. “With our quality products and high delivery reliability, we keep our promise to our customers day after day in order to support them in their business in the best possible way”, says Siamak Djafarian, Head of the Molding Compounds business unit at Röhm.
