EUROPLEX® at AIX: High-performance plastics for cabin interiors
- World’s leading trade fair for aircraft interiors back in-person in Hamburg for the first time after digital break
- EUROPLEX® sheets offer bespoke functionality for cabin interiors
- Proven properties in aviation: EUROPLEX® sheets are non-flammable, impact-resistant and easy-to-process
Low weight, enormous design freedom, robust and safe – the demands on materials for aircraft interiors are tough. With high functionality, EUROPLEX® sheets from Röhm GmbH have proven themselves in the aviation sector. The Acrylic Products business unit will showcase its broad portfolio of high-performance EUROPLEX® sheets at the world’s foremost trade fair for aircraft equipment – the Aircraft Interiors Expo – in Hamburg from June 14 to 16 – Hall B7, Booth A56. “We are so excited to finally have the chance to meet our customers in person once again this year, at such an important trade fair,” says Martin Rußmann, Product Manager at Röhm. AIX was canceled completely in 2020 and took place online in 2021.
EUROPLEX® PPSU sheets: large elements for panels
EUROPLEX® PPSU sheets combine outstanding fire safety properties with high impact resistance and good chemical resistance. Aircraft manufacturers use the opaque version of the sheets for large paneling elements for the wall, door and ceiling areas of the cabin, with the surfaces impressing with their matte texture.
EUROPLEX® F: easy to mold and combine with light
Non-flammable polycarbonate EUROPLEX® F sheets also meet key requirements for aviation applications, including a low specific weight and excellent mechanical and thermal properties. Available in more than 50 colors, the opaque version EUROPLEX® F3 is easy to process into molded parts, such as using vacuum deep-drawing processes. The matte surface texture is retained. Contrastingly, the UV-stabilized, transparent or translucent EUROPLEX® F7/F6 sheets can have a smooth surface design on both sides, or be prismatic on one side. These polycarbonate sheets are ideal for light covers, back-lit safety signs and glazing in the cabin.
